Mozart’s Requiem has always been surrounded by mystery and intrigue, sparking numerous romantic exaggerations. The Mozart Requiem was the composer’s final great composition, but was famously left incomplete at the time of his death.

The combined program is a reflection of current times, with the Sunrise Mass depicting hope, peace and light in a dawning post-Covid world, and the haunting Requiem representing the mourning for all that has been lost. All will be under the direction of conductor Andrew Wailes, best known for his work as Artistic Director & Chief Conductor of the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra. Joining these two fine ensembles will be four outstanding soloists: Elisabeth Wallis Gaedtke (soprano), Anne Fulton (mezzo soprano), Philip Prendergast (tenor), and Shaun Brown (Bass). Presenting this magnificent concert will be the Sunshine Coast’s premier choir, the 85 voice Oriana Choir, accompanied by Bisbane’s Sinfonia of St Andrew’s.
